How did you get your big break in gospel music?
We were asked to move to Shreveport Louisiana by our now Pastor Denny Duron, and landed at Shreveport Community Church. During that time after being one of the Pastors on staff and leading worship with our family for several years, at the suggestion by Jeoffrey Benward, our first Manager, we performed at the Rutledge in Nashville TN, before many industry executives. After the event, we had an A&R executive from one company respond, which was EMI Gospel. They believed in the band, and took us on. We had previously recorded, at Platinum Studios in Nashville, our sophomore project, “Get Ready.” Tommy Sims was the producer on what became an 11- song CD. EMI released “He Want It All” as our single, and the rest is our History! People loved this song. Elroy Smith at Radio 1 loved it. It took off!!! That project received five Stellar Award nominations, winning one, 2 Grammy nominations, and 2 Dove Award nominations. The song stayed at the top of the Billboard charts for weeks.
Your holiday special was great, I wanted to see more episodes of your family making music, What prompt you to decide on filming a reality show?
Jeoffrey Benward, our manager at the time, believed that we should look for broad opportunities to reveal our family band and music, and show that we are a true version of “America’s family.” So he began looking for someone to make this happen. Our first encounter with the reality TV industry was through some close acquaintances of his, reality TV producers Jimmy and Catherine Bernath. They put together a pilot for us, and began shopping it around. After years of hard work on our end, a window of opportunity opened up when Bounce TV, searching for a gospel family band, “discovered” foreverJONES! After tons of phone calls and meetings with our current manager, Keith Thomas, a Bounce TV special, “A foreverJONES Holiday,” was produced and aired last December. This became the basis for our recently announced reality show! We give all glory and honor to God, and are thankful to those who believed in us from the beginning.
In Part 2 foreverJONES will be responding to the following questions:
Please describe the filming day of your first holiday show:
I’m a big fan of Mary Mary’s reality series, but how will your series differ from theirs?
BTSCelebs loves wedding stories and Mrs. D’ Jeniele’ Hooten and her husband make such a cute couple! Tell us the backstory. How did you two meet? How did Mr. Hooten propose?
What surprises do you have in store for Bounce TV viewers? Will there be any guest stars?
**BTSCelebs sends a special thanks to Daryl Bush and foreverJONES for the interview and images.**
