Yesterday, The Lippin Group shared an official press release about an upcoming ABC/Lionsgate/Universal TV show based on the hit 1970s movie and series “Get Christie Love”. Actress Courtney Kemp plans to take on the CIA agent role of Christie in the new project.
The 2018 version of “Get Christie Love” reintroduces viewers to the 1974 show that made the late star Teresa Graves a trailblazer for African American actresses.
Debra Martin Chase, Shana C. Waterman and Vin Diesel all team up with Ms. Kemp to create this revamped show. Here is what the press release said about this version of the series: “Inspired by the revolutionary TV movie and subsequent series that aired on ABC in the ’70’s, GET CHRISTIE LOVE is an action-packed, music-driven drama that centers on Christie Love, an African American female CIA agent who leads an elite ops unit. She transforms into whomever she needs to be to get the job done, especially when it’s down to the wire and the stakes are life and death. The high-adrenaline missions of the series are anchored by an emotional mystery about Christie’s first love — unearthing the truth about this relationship will be the biggest mission impossible of her life. “
Martin Chase Productions, One Race Television and Courtney Kemp’s End of Episode production company join forces with the powerhouse names to bring a classic back to life. The pilot episode is currently in the works for this competitive project.
All the best to the cast and crew of “Get Christie Love”.
A Special Thanks to David Gardner at The Lippin Group for the press release.
