In “Hearts Entwined” – A Historical Romance Novella Collection, authors Karen Witemeyer, Mary Connealy, Regina Jennings and Melissa Jaguars did a wonderful job keeping readers engaged. Each story held its own charm, and they were an absolute joy to read. It’s impossible to choose a favorite short story out of this collection! They are all a must-read.
Here is my summary of the four sweet love stories :
“The Love Knot”
Claire Nevin and Pieter van Duren’s strong bond was instantly shattered by a gross misunderstanding between them. An unexpected baby appearing in Claire’s life reunites the two and forces them to open up to one another. Their already unsteady relationship is put to the test once more when Claire is stricken with a deadly illness.
“The Tangled Ties That Bind”
After five long years, Connor Kincaid returns home to claim Maggie as his bride once and for all. He didn’t anticipate that the teenage girl he left years ago would be pursing a career in medicine in a distant town. As he tries to convince her to run away with him, she opens his eyes to a life where they can serve others. They both discover that life together is more beneficial than singlehood.
“Bound and Determined”
Bradley Wills and Ambrosia Herald’s love story was the most unlikely tale. As punishment for not following the rules during a recent military mission, Private Willis is sent to escort a former officer and his stubborn daughter across state lines with a caravan of camels. What he didn’t expect to do is fall in love with Ambrosia, while outrunning a group of outlaws set on killing him. Their budding relationships faces unseen challenges that Bradley is the creator of.
“Tied and True”
Heiress Marianne Lister faces possible disinheritance and a life full of hardship if she marries secretary Calvin Hochstetler. To top it all off, Calvin rejects her due to their differences in status. Despite the challenges, she is determined to make Calvin believe she is serious about him, and convince him that she is ready to embrace the simple life. She takes a grueling job at a factory to prove it. It’s only a matter of time before Calvin sees her true heart.
I highly recommend this book to readers of all ages.
