Chosen Road Celebrates First Dove Award Nominations

The “57th annual Dove Awards” is honoring longtime bluegrass band Chosen Road with two nominations! The Gospel Music Association made the announcement today, according to a press release by Turning Point Media Relations.

The Thoroughbred Records EP “American Morning: Side A,” which was produced by Dave Clark, scored the Bluegrass/Country/Roots Album of the Year nomination, while songwriters Lee Black and Gina Boe’s single “A God Thing” earned Bluegrass Recorded Song of the Year recognition.

Chosen Road has been a roots band for close to 20 years, and their founding member made an official statement regarding the group’s new honors.

Jonathan Buckner: “ We’re incredibly honored to receive our first Dove Award nominations. American Morning: Side A was intentionally built around songs of faith. We wanted this project to reflect our love for Gospel music and the rich heritage of songs that have encouraged generations of believers. It’s a privilege to carry that legacy forward while pointing people to the hope found in Christ.

“We’re so thankful to our Thoroughbred and Daywind Music Group family for believing in this project, and to our longtime friend and producer, Dave Clark, for helping bring these songs to life. Above all, we’re grateful to the Lord for every opportunity He’s given us to share the Gospel through music. These nominations are an incredible honor, but our greatest hope is that these songs continue pointing people to Jesus.”

The “57th Annual GMA Dove Awards” is scheduled for October 6th, 2026 at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, TN. The inspirational network TBN will broadcast the recorded program on Friday, October 9th, 2026.

Congratulations to Chosen Road and all the best to them at the awards show in October!
