This month, educators and students gathered at the Memoria National Conference, and author Malcolm Guite was welcomed with a high praise.
His debut book “Galahad and the Grail,” which was the sole fiction nominee in the conference’s awards category, received the honorable 2026 Parnassus Prize, according to a press release from Turning Point Media Relations.
The Parnassus Prize is “inspired by Tracy Lee Simmons’ ‘Climbing Parnassus: A New Apologia for Greek and Latin.’” Its an annual award the Memoria College gives new books that successfully promote the Western liberal arts tradition.
The competition was intense with the following books worthy of the honor: “‘Why Literature Still Matters’, by Jason M. Baxter; ‘Christian Paideia, Vol. 1: A History of Christian Education to 500 AD,’ by Brian Welter; ‘Guide to the Science of Reading: Translating Research to Reignite Joy and Meaning in the Classroom,’ by Doug Lemov, Colleen Driggs, and Erica Woolway; ‘Truth Matters: A Dialogue on Fruitful Disagreement in an Age of Division,’ by Robert P. George and Cornel West; and ‘Passing the Torch: An Apology for Classical Christian Education,’ by Louis Markos.”
Congratulations to Malcolm Guite!
