Bio Book Update #3

I have to say that writing this brief memoir book has been a journey. There are times when it has made be giggle and depressed the crap out of me. After weeks of diligent writing, I can honestly say its best to put the past behind you and soar into the future.

So far, I have included my childhood, teen years, a snippet of the college days and its still a work in progress. Like I said before, it’s impossible to put a whole life (no matter one’s age) into one neat little book. The years themselves could be volumes!

Rather than really look at biography as a complete memoir, it is best to see them as highlight literature. The highlights are all anyone cares about anyway, right? 🙂

Now, the time has come to go back to the writing.

Randy Bernales: “Chicago Offers Some of The Best Theater in The Country”

??????????????????????

BTSCelebs: Now you are into lead/supporting roles and commercial and print work, can you describe your first experience in the limelight?

Randy: Haha I’m not really sure. I don’t really pay too much attention to my work when it’s aired or shown in print. Supposedly the most recent commercial was shown on Univision/Telemundo and another one on Starz and HBO.

Out of all the projects you acted in, which one was your favorite?

As an extra, “Public Enemies” As an actor, one of the most enjoyable was performing in a 48 film festival short this past year.

Who was your favorite actor to work with?

Johnny Depp, with Patrick Swayze being a close second.

Los Angeles and New York are the top cities to rise in the movie world, why have you chosen to develop your craft in Chicago?

Chicago is currently undergoing a major upswing in terms of big budget TV show and films being shot here. I thought about moving to Los Angeles a couple of years ago but there’s no way I would leave now that this city is under the spotlight regarding these productions. If you’re looking to fine tune your craft, Chicago also offers some of the best theater in the country and tons of classes to help nurture your talents.

What can we expect to see you in next?

I recently wrapped an online print shoot for Wilson Sporting Goods and a short film for Columbia College.

A Special Thanks to Randy Bernales for the image and interview.

Interview with Actor/Model Randy Bernales – Part 1

Randy Bernales_03092014

From Public Enemies to Chicago stardom.

Rising talent Randy Bernales is a pro in the entertainment circuit and he lives states away from Hollywood. The Chicago area based star has found the acting/modeling Pot of Gold right here in the Midwest.

Recently, BTSCelebs virtually sat down with the northern gentlemen to discuss his motivation, acting jobs and future in the business.

BTSCelebs: Please introduce yourself to BTSCelebers:
Randy: I’m Randy Bernales, an actor and model in the Chicago-land area.

What inspired you to join the entertainment industry?
I was always actively performing during my college years as a musician and actor. I really enjoyed the cultivating nature of community theater as well, and would like to thank the directors and fellow actors from those productions for sparking my interest in the craft of acting.

Tell us about your very first movie extra job:
It was during the spring/summer of 2008 for the movie, “Public Enemies” . My brother and I saw a posting on IMDB for an extras casting call for this film. The 1930’s depression era and John Dillinger were of particular interest to me, so we hopped a train and took a taxi to the audition. I remember it was rather an odd experience. There were a lot of people in front of us dressed in 1930’s attire and the audition simply consisted of picture taking and an availability check. Later that week, I received a callback to play an inmate for one of the smaller prison scenes. Upon arriving on set for wardrobe and makeup, I met with one of the stand-ins for Christian Bale who told me what to expect on set and of his experiences in this production thus far. I was amazed at some of the fun and unique stories he told. As this was a night shoot, we were on set from about 8 P.M. until 8 A.M. the following day. Later that night, Johnny Depp and Christian Bale were both in the same room with the extras and myself, and I remember it being a surreal experience. Depp joked around quite a bit but Bale kept to himself. When the sun came up, everyone was yelling, ” That’s a wrap!” and I had realized that I wasn’t used yet. It was then that the director, Michael Mann, said he wanted to get one more shot for the scene. He picked me out of the lineup of extras and asked me to smoke a cigarette in the jail cell next to the one where Depp was being held. Michael Mann has always been an inspiration to me and I’ll never forget that moment where he asked me to smoke and gave me specific direction for this scene. In the coming weeks, both my brother and I were repeatedly called back for scenes up until the last one which was shot on location at the Biograph Theater. It was here where John Dillinger was shot and killed. It was also here where I got to be featured in the final cut of the film. I had the good fortune of being once again hand picked by Michael Mann to be seated 1 row behind Depp as were watching the last film Dillinger saw before he was killed. In reality, it was just a green screen with the actual film being added in post production. I also got to be featured in a slow motion reaction shot of the outside crowd as we approached the body of Depp/Dillinger after he was shot. The entire experience on set for this project last about 4 short weeks but the memories with the cast, crew, and extras will last a lifetime.

What was it about this first experience that encouraged you to continue to pursue an acting career?
The ability to see movie magic at it’s best and how films are short inspired me to pursue this craft. I haven’t looked back since.

Stay Tuned for Part 2.

A Special Thanks to Randy Bernales for the image and interview.

[Interview] Nicole Weider: My Hubby and I Met Because of ‘The Language of God’ by Francis Collins

Nicole Weider high res

Model Nicole Weider has made a complete 360 in the modeling world! After spending precious years in a career she didn’t feel comfortable in, the popular married celeb is now encouraging young women of faith to stand up for modesty.

Being comfortable in the skin God has placed you in and serving Him with your body is the purpose behind her popular website Project Inspired.

My generation had GL(Girls’ Life), but the young ladies of today have PI!

BTSCelebs recently interviewed Mrs. Weider. We virtually talked about a range of topics from her personal experience in the Hollywood circuit to her beautiful love story with her hubby Mr. Weider.

BTSCelebs: Please shed some light on the dark side of the modeling/acting world. How did they persuade you to accept compromising jobs?

Nicole: My agent was the one who pointed out to me very matter-of-factly that I was too curvy to ever do fashion, and that my only ticket would be to model for swimwear and lingerie. Many photographers that were assigned to shoot me started suggesting that I unbotton my blouse and just cover my chest with my hands, and other various words to make me more vulnerable and susceptible to be influenced. My agency and other modeling agencies would frequently throw parties at Hollywood night clubs, to network and to be on the scene. It was really deceptive and ugly.

During your peak in Hollywood, which gig were you most proud to be apart of? the least?

I wouldn’t say I was truly “proud” of anything I had done, because the whole time I was compromising who I was on the inside. All of my jobs basically consisted of me displaying my sexuality. My least proud moment was being in Maxim magazine, which is funny because I wanted to be in it so bad. But when I saw the pictures online, I was embarrased, and wished I had never done it. I thank God for giving me a strong conviction after that moment, even before I began my walk with God.

Why did you create ProjectInspired.com?

I created it simply because I wish I had a site like this when I was a teenager when I was looking for advice about everything. Some topics are hard to discuss with your parents, and Project Inspired is a safe Haven for girls of all ages to lean on eachother, support one another and learn more about God all at the same time.

What makes your website different from other media outlets targeting young women?

My main mission it to tell girls that they are simply perfect and beautiful as God created them to be. Most other websites out there are trying to sell girls and women something constantly. “Buy this mascara, buy this outfit, buy this hair product,” mine is all about creating their sense of identity in who God made them to be and not what the world deems worthy.

Let’s get a little personal, you’re a married lady .Tell us your love story. How did you meet your husband?

We met at a restaurant by chance. I happened to be reading a book called “The Language of God” by Francis Collins (Which is fantastic!) and he overheard me talking about it with my friend. He mentioned to me he was reading the same book at the time. We hit it off immediately, and started dating. He then he proposed to me a year later and we got married on 11-11-11! It was truly a magical day.

What dating tips do you give your readers about finding the one?

First, accept yourself 100% completely with who God made you to be. You will never be happy or successful in finding your true love if you’re seeking someone else to make you feel accepted. You have to love yourself first. Second, prepare your mind and heart to start dating. Forget previous baggage, forgive yourself from previous mistakes, and focus on the future. Lastly, keep your eyes focused on the main thing- making God happy. Would God want you to date this person? Is he loving you like Jesus does?

A Special Thanks to Nicole Weider, Lori Lenz and FrontGate Media for the interview and image.

Got7’s “I Like You”: K-Pop’s Male Version of Jump5?

Jump for Got 7!

The rookie K-Pop group Got 7 is bringing sleek dance moves and gymnastics to the stage. They have assured music lovers its martial arts rather than gymnastics, but anyone who grew up in early 2000s has a memory of pop group Jump5. The teen band was originally a CCM group that crossed into the mainstream market via Disney. Jump5’s addictive choreography was filled with gymnastics that many singers of that day envied.

Yesterday, the large boy band shared a dance video for their latest sweet single “I Like You”. Even though Got 7’s routine is very subdued, I can’t help but think of the group from yesteryear that introduced flips in young mainstream music.

Check out Got7’s latest video above.
