Will “Black Panther” Achieve 2 Billion at the Box Office?
“Black Panther” broke movie records this past weekend by making almost 500 million dollars globally at the box office. According to The Hollywood Reporter, it earned more in its first four days than any North American film in history, beating previous “Star Wars” blockbusters.
Chadwick Boseman, Lupita Nyong’o and Michael B. Jordan lead the all star cast about a classic Marvel superhero from the 1960s. (Black Panther’s tribe holds the source behind his powers.)
Since “BP” is a superhero movie, I’m curious to see if this one has the potential to set the stage for future Marvel Comic films and its rival DC Comics. Tickets seem to be going at such a fast rate…it should have no problem reaching 1 billion, but will it be able to grasp 2 billion dollars? Only time will tell.

Review: 2018 Chicago Auto Show
Today, BTSCelebs finally headed out to the “2018 Chicago Auto Show.” The snowstorm and fog hindered my initial desire to attend last week, but I still made it.
After taking an afternoon overview, I’d say this show mirrors previous years in the placement of their vehicles on the floor and dealers like Jeep and Toyota offering some exciting test tracks on the showroom floor. The test tracks alone are enough to pique anyone’s interest for hours. You’ll need to set aside a whole day to go thru the entire show.
The dealers that stood out to me were Lincoln, Infiniti, Fiat and Toyota. Although, Jeep made a wonderful impression with their glass case filled with awards.
Lincoln and Infiniti displayed luxury at its finest proving America and Japan have what it takes to turn heads in the upscale car department.
Fiat boasts they are bringing the fun back to driving with a trailblazing turbo engine.
Toyota continued to share their love for Chi-town with stunning 4Runner, Tacoma and Tundra models.
Jeep’s award case!
Of course, Hyundai delivered with the grand introduction of their comfortable new Kona. It has the SUV style with the classic station wagon ease.
The cons with the “2018 Chicago Auto Show“ are the lack of giveaways from each dealer and Black History day. The amount of dealers giving away bags seems to be decreasing and many never give them away at all. I think each dealer can make a lasting impression on future buyers with a significant number of small freebies for Auto Show attendees. I attended on Hispanic Heritage day. I think it’s a wonderful idea to honor cultures and families at the show( women’s day and family day), and adding a Black history day in Black History month would be an admirable gesture from the annual event.
The Chicago Auto Show runs through February 19th, 2018.
*BTSCelebs sends a special thanks to the Chicago Auto Show for the press pass.*

Movie Review: “The Riot and The Dance”
Dr. Gordon Wilson narrates one of the most eye-opening documentaries of the year. From insects to mammals, “The Riot and The Dance” places a spotlight on the many creatures that either intrigue or terrify us. The famed biologist showcases the beauty of each living thing and their simple lifestyles that are so free from want…. that it makes viewers re-examine their own lives.
He starts the film by stating that it’s impossible to be bored in a world where there is so much happening in the ecosystem outside. The wonderful design of the landscape, the creatures and their daily routines are enough to fascinate everyone. They roam the land and their needs are provided for on a regular basis. Dr. Wilson places an emphasis on The Holy Bible and uses the Creation explanation as a way to prove that God provides for each living thing on a daily basis.
“The Riot and The Dance” helps viewers appreciate not only beloved animals like bison and elephants, but terrifying ones (example: scorpions and venomous snakes). He stresses that we have complete dominion over these creatures, according to the Bible.
I was a little uncomfortable with the animals feasting on each other and watching the lethal bats and snakes’ close-ups, but they all have an important purpose if they are alive. So, who am I to judge? The film is a must see for animal lovers and those bored with the mundane pace of life. You’ll be inspired by the positive message of the visually stunning documentary.
“The Riot and The Dance”[part 1] hits theaters on March 19, 2018 and April 19, 2018 (encore presentation).
*A Special Thanks to Lori Heiselman and everyone at Collide Media Group for the movie screener and images.*

Theatre Review: The Joffrey Ballet’s “Modern Masters”
“Modern Masters” is a must see!
The Joffrey Ballet continues a season of excellence with its latest show running through February 18. “Modern Masters” pleasantly surprises you with the dynamic dancing in The Four Temperaments, Body of Your Dreams, Beyond the Shore and Glass Pieces.
The Four Temperaments seems to explore the internal conflict humans deal with on a regular basis. From confusion to sheer happiness, you feel the emotions we all go through during the course of our lives. The George Balanchine choreographed dance, which originated in the 1940s, may have been based on ancient philosophy about personality types, but I think everyone can relate to the emotions the dancers express here.
Body of Your Dreams, which was choreographed by Myles Thatcher, tells the story of fitness fads brainwashing us. It truly opens your eyes to the meaningless outcome of only having the perfect exterior while ignoring your soul. The dancers did a great job getting the message across.
Beyond The Shore was a mix of thriller and fantasy. Dancers literally took us on a journey from the netherworld to outer-space. Each short story makes you think outside the box where you actually anticipate the next story, while being enthralled in the one unfolding before you.
Glass Pieces highlights the seemingly simplistic work of Philip Glass in the most exquistie way possible. The Jerome Robbins’ choreographed dance placed a spotlight on colors, the calming flow of people walking and tribal dance. The dancers gave the finale their all as they worked hard expressing classic operas in the form of ballet.
Bravo to all of the dancers, choreographers and musicians! Everyone did a fantastic job and should be very proud of themselves. I feel this was the most impressive modern dance set I have seen in recent years. Yoshihisa Arai and Victoria Jaiani are the mesmerizing solo acts to look out for in The Four Temperaments and paired up in Beyond The Shore. I guarantee you will be completely blown away by their infinite energy and expertise.
“Modern Masters” runs thru February 18, 2018 at the Auditorium Theatre in Chicago .
A Special Thanks to The Silverman Group for the press passes and Cheryl Mann for the photos.
