Decades after Michael Sarver graced the “American Idol” stage, he’s still passionate about his musical talent. The singer and songwriter recently released an inspirational pop single titled “More Like You” through S&G Music Enterprises (distributed by WieRise Music), according to a press release from Turning Point Media Relations Inc.

Well-known music names like Sidewalk Prophets’ Dave Frey, Ben McDonald, Dan Macal, and Justin Richards joined Michael Sarver in the songwriting credits.

What is the new song “More Like You” all about?

Michael Sarver: “ I hope this song can invite others to adopt the heart and lifestyle of Jesus Christ without imitation. As Christians, we can ‘talk the talk’ but often our walk isn’t in alignment with Him. I am no exception. I’ve been in situations where I didn’t represent Jesus in a way that truly resembles and honors Him.”

He adds, “Are we a light to the world for His sake or are there areas where we need to grow and change to be more like Him? Do we see others through His eyes? Do we love others with His love? Do we treat others with His kindness? Do we extend the same grace to others He extends to us? These are all questions that demand honest answers so we can grow in Him and truly reflect His love to others.”  

Last year, Michael shared “Warrior,” “Victory Song” and “All I Need.” He rounded out his tunes’ group with the March release “Limitless.”

Michael Sarver was a contestant on second 8 of “American Idol” and ranked in the top 10.
