“Riptide” is a force you never see coming.
The second book in the “Silent Horizons” series centers on the father-son type relationship between Special Forces marine Foster Quinn and billionaire Sterling Beaumont. They are on a mission to uncover the reasons behind young men closest to them tragically passing away. Foster lost a close friend and comrade, while Sterling’s son was a casualty of war.
The action begins in Sint Maarten, The Netherlands where our American serviceman, Foster, starts his alias game to spy on criminals he met in war-torn countries. A luxurious yacht named the Nirvana is where Foster’s main enemy Dmitri Tarasov and his unexpected sidekick Max Garrison, who is a trendsetting American businessman, are headed. Unfortunately, Foster’s quest to seek justice for the fallen takes a detour as he is faced with another horrific crime occurring right in front of his eyes.
With the help of Sterling and encouragement of his military comrades, he makes a heroic rescue and is back on track for his initial assignment. Washington, Texas, and even Canada are just some of the places our protagonist’s duty takes him in North America. During his undercover fight for justice, more lives are lost along the way as he discovers the identity of a government official behind their tragic losses. Also, a sinister motive to drag his home country into unnecessary wars due to “profit and greed” is brought to the surface.
With Sterling’s billionaire funding, Foster is able to do extensive traveling and finally uncover the truth. It’s a long fought battle that takes him away from his wife and young daughter, and it’s up to the readers to decide if it’s truly worth the sacrifice. A mission that was propelled by revenge quickly morphs into a struggle for justice for the entire country. Little did Foster and Sterling know, unimaginable tragedy will strike one more time before the “Riptide” story comes to a dramatic close.
