Disney’s “Camp Rock 3” Review: Surprise Guests Bring the Disney Magic

CAMP ROCK 3 – (Disney/David Astorga) LIAMANI SEGURA, MALACHI BARTON

I’m speechless after watching Disney’s “Camp Rock 3!” However, I will try to let you know why you shouldn’t miss this amazing premiere.

First of all, Jonas Brothers and Demi Lovato reprise their original roles and make special appearances in the Disney masterwork. And “Zombies” star Milo Manheim even drops by to give the campers priceless tips during the songwriters’ workshop. The brief appearances by each mega star is sure to bring you so much happiness. Demi Lovato makes sure to deliver an iconic “Camp Rock” line that many love. Fans of the original movies didn’t know if the main OGs would return, but they did and surpass expectations. It’s Disney magic!

In “Camp Rock 3,” Malachi Barton and Liamani Segura are the new headliners in a musical world that was created long ago by the iconic original stars. This time around, Fletch (Barton) and Sage (Segura) are campers at the legendary Camp Rock. They just happen to join a host of others competing for the coveted role of opening act for Connect 3 (Jonas Brothers).

Sage’s brother Desi (Hudson Stone) is also competing, but begins to work on his fractured relationship with his sister in the process. Their family fight is fueled by broken promises and love for each other that music has the power to mend. Fellow campers, Rosie (Lumi Pollack) and Cliff (Casey Trotter), round out the top 5 contestants poised to appear in the famous Final Jam. These five campers quickly form a friendship that only Disney can create, and viewers love.

Of course, it wouldn’t be Camp Rock without a group of bullies. Madison (Ava Jean) is accompanied by her two backup dancers, Daniel (Orlando Lucas) and Danielle (Ella Lucas), to frame the finalists and destroy the bond they are slowly forming. From a fight in the art and crafts room to classified footage posted online, the bullies stop at nothing to ruin the young talents’ dreams of stardom.

The comic reliefs would be Cliff and Connect 3’s manager Lark (Sherry Cola). Cliff is all about the one liners and physical comedy, while Lark uses sarcasm and a unique personality to bring a smile to viewers. “Camp Rock” explores innocent teenage flirtation among Sage and Fletch, Desi and Callie (Brooklyn Pitts), and Rosie with Cliff. They are sweet and adorable when paired off. I see puppy love growing if these three couples return for another film.

Veteran “Camp Rock” fans and new viewers, will literally fall in love with the perfect blend of music classics (examples: “We Rock” and “Play My Music) and brand new hits like “One Beat Away.” The film’s overall message is authenticity and connecting with people on an emotional level through music. There is something for everyone in this new classic! The mature and youthful actors have earned a place in viewers’ hearts forever. From the darling acting to the impressive vocals, a job well done! I highly recommend people of all ages watch “Camp Rock 3.” My biggest question is… when is “Camp Rock 4” releasing?

“Camp Rock 3” premieres August 13th, 2026 on Disney Channel and the next day on Disney Plus.
