Veteran comedienne Carol Burnett met President Obama yesterday after she received the nation’s number one humor prize on Sunday. Carol was awarded the Mark Twain for American Humor, at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.

American Idol’s very first winner Kelly Clarkson wed her beau Brandon Blackstock in Tennessee over the weekend. Today, the “Tie It Up” singer tweeted professional wedding photos from the location in Blackberry Farms.

Radio’s Latin princess is working overtime!
Radio and TV personality Nina Chantele returns to where it all began. This week, WCL’s Tuesday contributor made the announcement that she is going back to the first radio station that gave her a full time gig.
Nina via Facebook: “I’m BAAAACKK On Air in Miami! Back on the first full time station I’d ever been on. I’m feeling blessed and beyond elated. Please check ya girl out back in South Florida on 1035thebeat Mon-Sat. 10a-2p”
A day later, she explained how her new job ties into her current ones.

Liyana makes her dreams come true.

Male model and “You’re The Best, Lee Soon Shin” actor Go Joo Won started off his birthday week by attending the “Blood and Ties” VIP movie screening on October 15. He turned 32 on October 16th. His after-five ensemble is reminiscent to one I had in the late 90s – early 00s…. especially the green cargo pants. Love the threads GJW!
Here is a little backstory on GJW for me: He was the first SKorean celeb I made a fan club for (circa 2006). My club was created before most of the popular K-Pop sites out there today and its something I’ve treasured. I followed his dramas and kept the club going when he was serving his country in the military.
Without GJW’s club, I would have never embarked on writing gigs on the K-Pop news sites.

Take a virtual journey into the Bible.
Mark Arey, Kai Carpenter and Matt Dorff’s graphic novel about Jesus Christ’s birth and adolescence contrasts with John The Baptist. The two very different holy men are chronicled in this brilliantly illustrated slim novel.
The illustrations look more like portraits fit for a museum than a comic book. Some of the pictures are bright and beautiful, while others may be a bit creepy for younger readers.
Art appreciation and a hunger for the Holy Bible are needed for this masterpiece in a book. “Messiah: Origin” quotes bible verses and shies away from excessive filler info. They weave the four Gospels together and direct you to the original passages before you start each chapter.
