“Cinderella” actor Paolo Montalban and Kate Baldwin star in Lyric Opera’s “King and I”
The Prince is coming to Chicago!
Brandy Norwood’s 90s Prince Charming will star as the King of Siam in the elegant Lyric Opera of Chicago production this Spring. Paolo Montalban’s co-star, Kate Baldwin, was recently seen in the Windy City in the Broadway bound play “Big Fish”. Lyric Opera and The Silverman Group made the exciting announcement via an official press release today.

“All of us at Lyric are incredibly excited about this season’s production of ‘The King and I’, and that anticipation is greatly heightened with the casting of leads Kate Baldwin and Paolo Montalban,” says Lyric’s general director Anthony Freud.
“As part of Lyric’s American Musical Initiative, each season brings the opportunity to present an important work in this canon in the way that only a company with our technical, artistic, and production strengths can,”
Freud continues, “and the power of our cast and creative team will make Lyric’s ‘The King and I’ an extraordinary experience for audiences.”
I was a big fan of Brandy and Paolo’s version of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s “Cinderella”. Their performance was so convincing; I wanted them to become a couple in real life. I’m so happy he is starring in another Rodgers and Hammerstein play right here in the Midwest.
“The King and I” premieres on April 29th and runs thru May 22 at the Civic Opera House.

Diogo Morgado and Ed Asner’s “Love Finds You In Valentine” Premieres on Valentine’s Day
It’s almost here!
This week, UP Tv made the big announcement that the third installment in the “Love Finds You” series will premiere on the most romantic day of the year.

In “Love Finds You In Valentine”, law student Kennedy Blaine (Michaela McManus) inherits a ranch in the small town of Valentine, Nebraska. She travels to Valentine with the intent of selling the ranch, but is drawn to the area’s beauty – and to the ranch foreman, Derek Sterling (Diogo Morgado). Putting her life in L.A. on hold, she decides to spend some time at her ancestral home and, despite a long-standing feud, to reconnect with family members, including her grandfather, Gabriel Morgan (Ed Asner). But soon Kennedy is subjected to harassment by someone who clearly wants her to leave Valentine. Depending on Derek and his mother June’s (Lindsay Wagner) assistance, she sets out to discover who is behind the offenses. “Make It Pop” Releases First Trailer For New Season
We are less than two weeks away from the premiere of season 2 of “Make It Pop“! Sun Hi, Jodi and Corki promise great tunes, dance moves and cutesy lighthearted story-lines.
I can’t wait to see who Sun Hi is paired with this season. She was the only XO-IQ member without a boyfriend last season. I secretly wish it could be SHINee member, but I’ll look forward to whomever Nickelodeon chooses.
