BTSCelebs: Who inspired you to become an artist?

Vanessa Navarrete: My inspiration to be an artist is based on my need to translate my passion into something physical and permanent…..to create harmony and beauty out of what I perceive as chaos in life.  It is my consolation and catharsis. 

What type of art do you create?

I make abstract expressionist oil paintings.

What materials do you use in your artwork?

I primarily use oil on canvas and wood panel, but I also like to experiment with collage, molding paste, and metallic paints.

How long does it take to make one piece?

The duration of each piece varies widely from a single day to several months depending on the size and other variables during the creation.

If there was one celebrity you would want to adorn their walls with your art, who would it be and why?

I’m not into contemporary mass culture and prefer the silent stars of the 1920s.  I would have liked the modern dance pioneer and choreographer Martha Graham to have owned one of my pieces.  Her work and life are a great inspiration to me.

Which motion picture production (TV series or movie) would you love to showcase your work in their films?

I would like my work to be showcased in a serious documentary about contemporary art.

What do you want people to experience thru your art?

I would like to help put people in touch with the infinite, to dream more and feel the stirrings of their own vitality springing to life……to transcend the moment and perhaps see through the layers of reality.  I want to be part of the glory of what it is to be human, a source of beauty and inspiration.

Please tell us your artistic plans for 2013-2014:

I am currently working on a large series of miniature oil paintings on panel.  It is to be a collection of vivid daydreams.

Toonz Animation to Debut Animated “Krrish”

Hrithik Roshan and Priyanka Chopra‘s movie “Krrish” will be made in a children’s series.

Toonz Animation plans to create a total of 4 movies based on the Bollywood sci-fi movie franchise. Ms. Chopra is scheduled to be a voice talent in the production. “Kid Krrish” will be number 1 in the pack of 4.

[Celeb Blog] Brittany Fletcher: I’ll Wed Gordon Beckham in a Rita Vinieris Gown

Wow! A Wedding is so much work!! As much as I’ve always dreamed of planning my wedding, I never had any idea that so much went into planning your special day. I definitely respect and admire all of the brides out there who have juggled both working full time while planning. It’s definitely been an experience that I’ve thoroughly enjoyed, but it’s for sure had its ups and downs.

 I think that the most difficult thing I’ve experienced especially has been trying to plan a wedding while being in a completely different state. It definitely requires a lot more work than you would think. Although things can be challenging, you definitely have to just keep moving forward, and staying positive to the best of your ability. =) In the end, it’s not about all the wedding details that make the day special, it’s about being able to marry the love of your life.

Gordon and I are extremely excited to spend the rest of our lives together and especially can’t wait until our honeymoon. We haven’t decided yet on a location, but we definitely have some amazing places in mind. He said he’d like to surprise me, so maybe I’ll let him take care of that part. =)

 I know one of the best things about planning a wedding is when the Bride is able to find her dress, and I can confirm that I have found the perfect one. =) I had an idea of what dress I kind of wanted before going to look, but I wasn’t exactly 100% sure. After putting on a couple, I knew exactly the style I wanted. I would share a picture with y’all, but can’t let Gordon see, so y’all will have to wait too. 😉  I will say it is by #Rivini by Rita Vinieris, and I’m extremely blessed to have found such a flawless gown.

 I am actually meeting with my wedding planner in the next few weeks, so after discussing things further with her, I will be able to update y’all more on some of the wedding details. I am always open for any ideas that anyone has, especially anything crafty, unique and meaningful. Please feel free to share your thoughts, Gordon and I would love to hear y’alls feedback. Please feel free to ask any questions too, we would be more than happy to answer them.

Album Review: Amy Grant’s “How Mercy Looks From Here”

If I Could See (What The Angels See) – Life would be so easy if we could see thru the eyes of Angels. Amy Grant talks about the simplicity of believing and trusting in God if she had a vision of the world the way Angels do. Its an upbeat and happy tune. This is a great morning song!

Better Not to Know – Live life one day at time and don’t worry about tomorrow! She expresses the idea that its best not to know about the future (example: when we will die). We work hard in our lives and its best to live in the moment instead of agonizing about what will happen. The slow tune helps you reminiscence about the past and enjoy the good times.

Don’t Try So Hard (with James Taylor)– God’s grace is there for all Christians. You don’t have to be perfect. Jesus Christ was given for the sins of the world. Christians aiming to be perfect in life is not necessary…. all you have to do is open your heart to God and give your life to Him. Trying so hard will wear you out! The single is a country infused-CCM tune that is pleasing to the ear and relaxes your nerves.

Deep As It Is Wide (featuring Sheryl Crow & Eric Paslay) – Have you discovered true love? Amy, Sheryl and Eric have! The three team up to sing a song about realizing God’s love is the most truthful and deepest love there is. When you receive eternal life, you can finally experience God’s deep love in Heaven. Its a rock/country tune that ends with a glorious choir accompanying the three singers.

Here -Everything in the world represents God being there with you. The beauty of nature, music and just about anything that goes on in life …. Amy believes it means God is saying “I Am Here”. “Here” is a track that reassures you are not alone in the world.

Shovel In Hand (with Will Hoge) – Experiences in life mature people. Amy describes how her son became a man after “burying a friend”. Her son grew up due to the adult experience. The country/bluegrass song is shocking with its poignant lyrics.

Golden -I feel this is Amy’s version of Britt Nicole’s “Gold”. She reassures Christians that they are loved no matter what. Christians are “golden” to God. Despite the trials you face, God loves you and will be with you.

Our Time Is Now (with Carole King) – Don’t waste a year! Time flies and Amy tells her listeners she has to “sing” before her time runs out. I feel this song expresses the need to live life to the fullest and do as much as you can in this life before its over. The message is strong yet the music makes you want to get up and do a square dance. “Our Time Is Now” is a very energetic tune with a lot of heart.

Not Giving Up – Have you ever given up on life? Well, Amy describes her desire to never give up on a loved one. No matter how hopeless they feel, she will always be there for them. She cherishes them. The beautiful ballad tugs at your heartstrings.

How Mercy Looks From Here – God’s mercy is there thru it all. Whether you have faced the storms of life and overcome or lost a child, the mercy of God is there and His  angels surround you. Scottish bagpipes illuminate the end of the melancholy song.

Greet The Day – Amy greets the day by doing good deeds for others and looking to help people. Greeting new days should be full of happiness and a willingness to serve others. “Greet The Day” will have you dancing every morning anticipating a great day!

“Transformers 4” Filming in Chicago July 2013: Tour Cinespace Film Studios

Chicago Fire, Divergent and TV pilots are filming or set to begin production at Cinespace. “Transformers 4” could be next!

The blockbuster action film series, Transformers, plans to shoot movie number 4 in Chicago from July -October 2013. Mark Wahlberg is ready to rent a house here for 4 months during the duration of the production.

Even though this movie will be Shia-less, I know fans of the toys/comic book series will fall in love with the next movie in the franchise.

Canadian Politics and Times of India Film Awards 2013

B0llywood lit up the Canadian sky this weekend, but politics is taking over the news.

The Times of India Film Awards 2013 was a joyful extravaganza for the stars of India. Celebrities from the Eastern world traveled to the West to be honored for their hard work in the industry.

However, politics is today’s headline news. According to “Bollywood Life”,  citizens said too much was spent on the event and it was used to sway the voting population.

The powerful vocalist from one of my favorite K-Pop boy bands, SHINee, turns 23 years old today!

Kim Jonghyun was born on April 8th, 1990 (it’s already the 8th in South Korea). Bling Bling is one year older today, and BTSCelebs wishes him a happy birthday and hopes he enjoys his day.

ShaWols haven’t heard much from the talented lead vocalist since his car accident, but BTSCelebs hopes he fully recovers soon.
