Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, watch out! Christmas comes in June.

This week, the UP tv production team travels up North to begin filming  an upcoming holiday film tentatively titled “My One Christmas Wish” starring actress Amber Riley. The family-friendly network released a press release about the movie based on a true story today.

“UP announced today that actress/singer Amber Riley (‘Glee’) has been cast to star – and sing — in the lead role in the original UP Premiere Movie ‘My One Christmas Wish’ (working title), an emotional drama inspired by the real-life story of driven, straight-A college student Jackie Turner, whose loneliness during the holidays drives her to post a heartbreaking want ad for a family at Christmas on craigslist.”

The heart-wrenching film will be apart of the “Everything You Love About Christmas” programming schedule in November.

Kurt Hugo Schneider Releases Dynamic Rock Cover of Carly Rae Jepsen’s “I Really Like You”

IReallyReallyLikeLikeYou_MAX_Againstthecurrent

Kurt Hugo Schneider recently teamed up with MAX and Against The Current for his latest addictive cover. They decided to put a rock spin on Carly Rae Jepsen‘s latest catchy tune “I Really Like You”.

The song originally had an 80s flair. So, I kind of like what they did with it. My only complaint about the video is that there isn’t any chemistry between the lead singers. I want to feel that they really like each other… even if they don’t.

It’s impossible not to get hooked on many of Jepsen’s songs and this cover is no different.

Author Melissa Tagg Reveals Her Cover Boy Crush

Posted on June 10, 2015 by Btscelebs

LikeNeverBefore_MelissaTagg

Yesterday, Melissa Tagg wrote, ” Once upon a time, a writer in Iowa kinda fell in love with her own character. She knew it was weird and possibly unhealthy to love a fake person so much. But whatever, she loved him. AND THEN she got to see the publisher’s book cover for this guy’s story and he looked so much like the man in her head that she pretty much freaked out and if she loved him before, she went into full-blown he’s-the-greatest-man-alive-who’s-not-really-alive mode and talked about him to EVERYONE for weeks. And now she finally gets to share! LIKE NEVER BEFORE comes out spring 2016. I’m less than three weeks from the rewrite deadline. #AlltheHappyFeelings”

Movie Review: Love Finds You In Charm

Posted on June 7, 2015 by Btscelebs

LoveFindsYouinCharm_Trevor Donovan_Danielle Chuchran_Drew Fuller

Simply delightful.

Tonight, UP tv premiered the second installment in their Love Finds You series with “Love Finds You In Charm”.  The sweet film is all about a young Amish woman named Emma who is obsessed with Jane Austen’s “Pride and Prejudice” and desires excitement and adventure in her life. When she visits her widowed cousin for the Autumn season, she gets a surprisingly bitter taste of the life she has longed for.

After giving into the temptation of joining the modern world, Emma has to decide if she will experience life with an enticing writer or stay with the dependable Amish guy who loves her.

Actors Trevor Donovan, Danielle Chuchran and Drew Fuller round out the love triangle in the movie that mirrors the “charm” of Jane Austen’s tales. It has a little of “Pride and Prejudice”, “Sense and Sensibility” and “Persuasion” all sprinkled in it.

The movie was like a breath of fresh air when compared to other love stories out there today. I’m a big Jane Austen fan, so I liked seeing the similarities to her work. The only complaint I have is that there isn’t any diversity. I would have loved to see more of a melting pot in the cast.

*A Special Thanks to UP tv’s PR for a screener of the movie and photo*
