Stephanie Mack’s “Twenty Something Else”: Review

“Twenty Something Else” has the biggest heart a book can contain.

In this contemporary romance, author Stephanie Mack appeals to today’s Millennials by introducing readers to character Sutton Layne. She is getting ready to celebrate her fortieth birthday, and the young woman is unhappy with every aspect of her life. From her dull marriage to a waning friend group, Sutton desires to do it all over again. The friendship circle is one of the biggest emotional scars due to the tragic passing of a dear friend in a car accident a few years prior.

Sutton’s mundane life is about to be turned upside down following a pickleball injury. During an unexpected blackout, Sutton is transported to a heavenly realm with her own guardian angel. The heavenly being gives her the opportunity to relive her twenties and possibly alter the course of her current life. Elated, Sutton jumps head first into dating, a new career path, friendships and even traveling. However, it is the small life lessons she learns along the way that have her desperately missing her old life with husband Reid, and their children Max and twin girls Maisy and Malone. Even the friendship circle, which comprised of Quinn, Sierra, Sutton, and the late Camila, holds a special place in her heart. Nonetheless, she slowly becomes determined to set things right in this new existence, learn from her elders and try to save Camila’s life once and for all.

Will Sutton fix the problems in her life and be able to return to a new existence? Or would will she have to relive her twenties all over again and lose everything? You’ll have to read the book to find out.

“Twenty Something Else” is a fun contemporary romance for the hopeless romantics who are big Hallmark fans. I highly recommend this book to readers of all ages who are searching for a lighthearted read with a unique happy ending. Every chapter holds a big surprise and twist that completely alters the story. You don’t want to miss a minute of this novel!

“Twenty Something Else” releases tomorrow (June 9th, 2026.)
