Bobby Tinsley speaks to BTSCelebs

Bobby’s here!

The wait is FINALLY over

Check out our entire (even though its short) interview with music man extraordinaire…..Bobby Tinsley!

BTSCelebs: What attracted you to the music biz?

Bobby: I always loved to sing, so from an early age I knew I wanted to be involved in the music business someday, someway somehow. As I grew older, I really started to realize the gift that God had given me to sing and to write, and I just naturally went that direction. What a journey!
Did you have any other goals/dreams you wanted to achieve besides music?
I was a sports guy, so playing pro sports was there in my mind for a minute! But, once I let that go, I put my focus on the arts. You know, I have always enjoyed being behind the camera as well as photography and directing, and acting and modeling are two things that I wanted to be involved in as well. I also love business, and money (haha, don’t we all!), so I am actively involved in a few different business ventures too.
How did you break into the biz?  Were you discovered?
My first big break came in 2005, one of my songs off of my first CD entitled “Page 1” ended up going No. 1 on a radio station in Florida, and that led me to releasing my first nationally charting song “Addicted”. That opened a lot of doors for me at the time, one of which was meeting and signing with BeBe Winans. Since that day I have been able to accomplish so many great things, it truly is a blessing to get to do what I love to do.
During your career, who was the most memorable celeb you toured with?
Working with BeBe was definitely one of the most memorable for me, you have to understand growing up in my house The Winans were played everyday 24/7! Performing with Carl Thomas was pretty cool as well being an R&B guy myself…that dude can sing! Honestly though, I have met and worked with so many cool people over the years, but those are two that really stand out.
The rumor online is that you got married…Is this true?
Yes! May 15th, 2011 was our 2yr anniversary 🙂
Congrats! Tell us about your love story…How did you two meet?
We don’t have enough time here haha! WELL, the SHORT version of the story is (and let me re-emphasize SHORT) my wife Jessica lived less than 5 minutes away from my road manager in Georgia. I was coming through town on this small southeast college tour at the time, we met, started getting to know each other, and it was one of those love at first sight things…it was crazy!!!! From the moment we really began to get to know each other, we both knew hands down that we were getting married! The crazy thing is, I was never that type of person who believed in the whole “love at first sight” stuff anyway, but then it hit me in the face! Don’t get me wrong, my wife is a 10, but it wasn’t nearly as much about her looks as it was her heart. She has the most honest, sincere, hopeful eyes of anyone I have ever met. She has such an innocence about her too…I just love her to death, you are gonna have me start writing a song here if you’re not careful 😉
What are your future plans in the music biz?
Right now I am laser focused on expanding my brand, and bringing it to more of the masses here in the US. I recently just had 2 Top 10 German singles, and I am putting together a really great team right now to duplicate that here. I am also blessed to be a part of the new upcoming season of VH1’s Basketball Wives LA, so you can check me out on there! Just get ready, you haven’t seen ANYTHING yet! 🙂

Did you miss our Twitter-view with Vietnamese model Ryuichi Pham yesterday? Well, never fear…BTSCelebs recap is here!

Check our the full Twitter-view transcript below:

Ryuchi: sitting at coffe bean saigon waiting for ur quessstions so excited haha!!

BTSCelebs:  Let’s start off with the basics……What drew you to modeling?

Ryuchi:  I was scouted 2 years ago by my current agency “Instyle models Munich” while walking around with my friends!!

You were in the right place at the right time 🙂 I was scouted when I was around 11, but that is story for another time…next question… As a child, did you dream of becoming a model? What were you nurtured to become?

sure! was dancing to Madonnas Vogue everyday and night haha jk no ..I wanted to become a pokemon master!!! nurtured? like what did my parents want me to become? they hoped that I wont get into prison n become a gangster

there is nothing wrong with that….haha 🙂 Seriously, who do you look to for support and motivation?

I always ask my MUM…(I LOVE YOU MUM) she is the person I can talk to and ask for advices…I am a mama’s boy

Nice..I know Mom must be proud. She has a “model” son :)…Is it scary being in front of the camera? What do you like about it?

First it was really awkward…posing..facial expression everything has to be perfect..and although I am still a newbie in this business.I think I am already alot more comfortable with being in front of the camera as it  gets “Lessscary with every “successful” fotoshoot

How do you control your nervousness ?

drink :))…alot of water lol..no srsly I jump around I dance and I sing like before I had my finals my neighbours complaint becuz I kept sining at night before I was so nervous :((

Being active helps..interesting….Besides winning the contest, have you gotten additional modeling opportunities?

Right now I am in vietnam visiting my family but I also got a job for Elle Vietnam tmrw so stay tuned haha

We will…haha :)…..Are you currently on an exclusive contract with a modeling agency in Germany?

I am only under instyle but I am free to join other agencies so if u know someone….:)) holla at me

Holla! haha Ok …..Do you want to expand your modeling career to the USA?

going international is a big dream of mine right now I am waiting for replies of agencies in Paris and America but it is still really hard for an asian model to be really succesful in europe or america as ppl are still not  interested in asian models :((

I hear you. I guess you have to keep trying until you reach your goals…. Do you have a role model?

male asian models like sen mitsuji or noma han are people I look up to because they are asian and successful

They can give many hope…..Q: How will you juggle a romantic relationship with the demands of a modeling career?

I dont know I ve never had a “romantic relationship” haha forever alone lol …honestly I dont know…

When the time comes…you will probably deal with it then…:) Ok, here is our last question…. If you had to describe yourself in 3 words, what would they be?

The Art Institute Of Chicago [Museum Review]

After living in the Chicago area all of my life, I FINALLY paid a visit to the Institute this week.

What did I expect to see? Boring pieces that I would not be able to understand or care about. However, contrary to popular belief, the museum is full of interesting pieces of history and religion.

When you enter the building you are taken on a trip thru time….a place where African, America, and European collide. You have a chance to see what your ancestors worshiped, dined with, and just plain lived in! Clothes, miniature rooms, and many idol gods filled the place I thought would only hold paintings and sculptures.

Now, don’t get me wrong the place still has plenty of paintings and sculptures for your viewing pleasure, but there is also many places for the rest of us [artistically appreciative challenged people] to enjoy.

I recommend all [with a solid religious background] to check out this museum. If you are not steadfast in your religion, you may be swayed by the numerous Eastern gods taking over the main hall.

K-entertainment Companies Are One Of The Hardest Puzzles To Solve!

Do you want to contact your favorite celebrity for an interview or *cough cough* an article for your website? Well, remember everyone is not who they appear to be!

My experience with K- companies is a very sordid one. However, I won’ t use names out of respect of the individual companies. In my opinion, 3 out of every 30 companies will welcome you with open arms. If you don’t understand Korean, your chances after that are probably 1 to 30. The key to trying to win them over is a great attitude, an open mind, and the ability to wait for months [possibly up to a year] for an answer…not necessary the answer you want, but an answer of some sort.

Should you try to contact them at all? Of course! However, remember it may not always be the answer you are looking for.

Just Jared Jr’s Contests Are Legit!

Ok, I will level with you…I have won numerous K-drama DVD sets and Kpop CDs are easy to obtain too. However, anything in America…not so much. Winning contests in the USA is extremely hard and mostly impossible.

Just Jared, on the other hand, is one of those fair websites. Thru Jared Eng’s youngster site, I won the RIO soundtrack! So, who am I referring you to today for future giveaways? You guessed it…Just Jared!

Now, I just have to find out how to get him to accept Kpop on his site? What contest should I enter for that?

[Review] Disney Channel’s “So Random”

After one exhausting week of work, I have to admit I’m looking forward to tomorrow’s episode of  “So Random”. The show may lack one pivotal star and their previous set up, but the  kiddie version of SNL is working for them.

Whether you are 4 to 144, there is something catchy about “So Random”. I was a little hesitant to watch it after the departure of  “Sonny” [aka Demi Lovato] and it is still impossible to not miss her with the crew. However, with the exception of the occasion mean skit [ making fun of celebs ] it is quite funny.

Pros:  imitation Wheel of Fortune and MC Grammar

Cons: Tantrum Girl and that Goulish Skit

It’s fair to give “So Random” 7 out of 10 stars. Although, I do wish they would explain why Chad Dylan Cooper joined the show and where the “Sonny Monore” character is today.

Elliott Yamin Tweets His Love Of Fairytales

American recording artist Elliott Yamin is one of my favorite singers. I own all three of his studio albums, I have seen him perform live, and I think he is one of the most talented male vocalists around.

However, I guess there was something I didn’t know about the former American Idol finalist. Apparently, he loves fairytales. He tweeted the image above and “Princess Yamin” as the caption. Do I like seeing him in a tiara? NOT AT ALL!!! But, I’m curious about your opinion.

Check out his recent interview as Prince Yamin here
