The Art Institute Of Chicago [Museum Review]

After living in the Chicago area all of my life, I FINALLY paid a visit to the Institute this week.

What did I expect to see? Boring pieces that I would not be able to understand or care about. However, contrary to popular belief, the museum is full of interesting pieces of history and religion.

When you enter the building you are taken on a trip thru time….a place where African, America, and European collide. You have a chance to see what your ancestors worshiped, dined with, and just plain lived in! Clothes, miniature rooms, and many idol gods filled the place I thought would only hold paintings and sculptures.

Now, don’t get me wrong the place still has plenty of paintings and sculptures for your viewing pleasure, but there is also many places for the rest of us [artistically appreciative challenged people] to enjoy.

I recommend all [with a solid religious background] to check out this museum. If you are not steadfast in your religion, you may be swayed by the numerous Eastern gods taking over the main hall.

K-entertainment Companies Are One Of The Hardest Puzzles To Solve!

Do you want to contact your favorite celebrity for an interview or *cough cough* an article for your website? Well, remember everyone is not who they appear to be!

My experience with K- companies is a very sordid one. However, I won’ t use names out of respect of the individual companies. In my opinion, 3 out of every 30 companies will welcome you with open arms. If you don’t understand Korean, your chances after that are probably 1 to 30. The key to trying to win them over is a great attitude, an open mind, and the ability to wait for months [possibly up to a year] for an answer…not necessary the answer you want, but an answer of some sort.

Should you try to contact them at all? Of course! However, remember it may not always be the answer you are looking for.

Just Jared Jr’s Contests Are Legit!

Ok, I will level with you…I have won numerous K-drama DVD sets and Kpop CDs are easy to obtain too. However, anything in America…not so much. Winning contests in the USA is extremely hard and mostly impossible.

Just Jared, on the other hand, is one of those fair websites. Thru Jared Eng’s youngster site, I won the RIO soundtrack! So, who am I referring you to today for future giveaways? You guessed it…Just Jared!

Now, I just have to find out how to get him to accept Kpop on his site? What contest should I enter for that?

[Review] Disney Channel’s “So Random”

After one exhausting week of work, I have to admit I’m looking forward to tomorrow’s episode of  “So Random”. The show may lack one pivotal star and their previous set up, but the  kiddie version of SNL is working for them.

Whether you are 4 to 144, there is something catchy about “So Random”. I was a little hesitant to watch it after the departure of  “Sonny” [aka Demi Lovato] and it is still impossible to not miss her with the crew. However, with the exception of the occasion mean skit [ making fun of celebs ] it is quite funny.

Pros:  imitation Wheel of Fortune and MC Grammar

Cons: Tantrum Girl and that Goulish Skit

It’s fair to give “So Random” 7 out of 10 stars. Although, I do wish they would explain why Chad Dylan Cooper joined the show and where the “Sonny Monore” character is today.

Elliott Yamin Tweets His Love Of Fairytales

American recording artist Elliott Yamin is one of my favorite singers. I own all three of his studio albums, I have seen him perform live, and I think he is one of the most talented male vocalists around.

However, I guess there was something I didn’t know about the former American Idol finalist. Apparently, he loves fairytales. He tweeted the image above and “Princess Yamin” as the caption. Do I like seeing him in a tiara? NOT AT ALL!!! But, I’m curious about your opinion.

Two of Asia’s top Producer/Songwriters tweeted and retweeted my tweets!

This does not happen everyday…in fact it doesn’t happen at all! Apparently, June is my lucky month.

It all started on June 3rd, 2011 when the following tweet from songwriter/producer Sean Alexander. Do you want to see K-pop in America? [SS501’s Kim Hyun Joong Feature]

Kpop is taking over the world!

South Korean stars are selling out shows in  places like Japan, South America, Australia, Europe, and now they are hitting the United States of America! Popular recording artist Kim Hyun Joong[pictured above] is at the top of the Asian music charts with his newest single “Please” from his first solo project “Break Down”.

South Korean companies JYP Entertainment and SM Entertainment have opened US branches. Movie companies: CJ Entertainment are bringing blockbuster worthy movies like “Late Autumn” to American Soil.

So, is America ready for a K-entertainment feature in their top media outlets on a regular basis? I think the answer is …….YES! Kpoppers need your help to visit a city near you. Vote in the poll below if you want Hallyuwood to be featured right alongside Hollywood[for example: in top media outlets like: People, UsWeekly, JustJared, Entertainment tonight,Access Hollywood, etc]

[Twitter Focus] Check Out @KimHyunJoongFan!

Over the past few months, I have become a huge fan of twitter!

When the tweeting sensation first started, I thought I would never go near the site. However, when I made my first account[and found out it was easier to use than Facebook]….I have been hooked ever since!

Today, I invite you to check out my fan twitter account for Hallyu Star Kim Hyun-joong! My overseas superstar peer is gearing up for his solo debut on June 2nd [MV release] and I thought I would post a quick message about him.

His “Please” music video releases on June 2nd.

He turns 25 on June 6th.

KHJ’s “Break Down” album will be available online June 7th.

The “Break Down” album hits stores all over Asia on June 8th.

“The Chicago Code” gets Cancelled!

Well, my hometown’s new FOX TV show is over.

I was filmed in exactly 2 episodes,but I worked on 3. The first was the pilot were I froze outside and had to walk back to holding[for a good number of blocks] in the rain…without an umbrella, toasted in the sun for 10 + hours the second time around for outdoor scenes in August, but the third was the best. It was the shortest day of filming… everyone was so warm and friendly and I was able to stay in a cool air conditioned building[most of the time] on a warm day.

Taking the bitter with the sweet, I will sort of miss the “Code”. It represented Chicago in Hollywood. I’m not saying I agree with all of the subject matters, but it was good to know my hometown was showcased every week on a nationally (and internationally via the web) televised show every week.

Farewell Chicago Code….you will be missed.

We Chicagoans have had our fill of edgy crime dramas…..Hopefully, Hollywod writers will bring a family oriented comedy here in the future.
