Mark Arey, Kai Carpenterand Matt Dorff’s graphic novel about Jesus Christ’s birth and adolescence contrasts with John The Baptist. The two very different holy men are chronicled in this brilliantly illustrated slim novel.
The illustrations look more like portraits fit for a museum than a comic book. Some of the pictures are bright and beautiful, while others may be a bit creepy for younger readers.
Art appreciation and a hunger for the Holy Bible are needed for this masterpiece in a book. “Messiah: Origin” quotes bible verses and shies away from excessive filler info. They weave the four Gospels together and direct you to the original passages before you start each chapter.
BTSCelebs recommends this book for teens, adults, all comic book lovers and video gamers,
“Messiah: Origin” hit stores on October 9.
BTSCelebs sends a special thanks to Lori from FrontGate Media for a copy of the novel for review.
Why is the baby member (Taemin) flaunting his abs?
SHINee has grown up way too fast in the K-Pop industry since their debut in 2008. The sweet teens of “Replay” are long gone and the mature men of 2013 have taken their places.
Personally, I think its unnecessary for my boys to get sexy for a musical comeback. “Everybody” is dark and on the borderline of sexy. Above all, I support SHINee, and I think they are one of the hardest working South Korean boy bands out there.

Closer To Your Heart – This single describes a state of brokenness that propels you to cry out to God. Natalie sings about her desire to be closer to Him. The upbeat pop rock song is 100% dance worthy.
Natalie Grant: “It’s fun, happy & fresh…. I love the track, but this lyric describes the cry of my heart over the past couple of years.”
Hurricane– BTSCelebers have been hearing Hurricane for weeks now. It’s about God rescuing you from the trials in life. No matter the size of your problem, He can find you in the mist of the storm.
Listen to the mellow track for yourself:
For All Of Us – This worship song is all about giving glory to Jesus Christ for dying on the cross for Christian’s sins. Natalie sings about being in awe of the magnificent grace of God for sending his Son For All Of Us. If you love contemporary christian worship songs, you will fall in love with this track. The slow ballad turns into a choir of singing angels.
Whisper -You can miss God’s message if you are waiting for a big sign….. sometimes it comes in a whisper. Natalie sings about getting ahead of God and looking for the answers we want to hear instead of being still and listening to God. The mid-tempo tune is the perfect morning wake-up song.
Burn Bright – Everyone is meant to shine. This song talks about slowing losing someone to their drug addiction. It reminds that person they were meant for more. They can still be a light in a dark place if they turn to Christ. The powerful ballad is filled with Natalie’s strong vocals.
Natalie: “Almost 2 years ago, I found out my precious nephew was addicted to heroine… I wrote a letter to my nephew and put a melody to it. The song is called Burn Bright… My nephew is in recovery & doing better, but it’s a long road ahead. No matter what you’re story is, I pray this song reminds us all – that we were made to SHINE.”
This Is Love – Rock out with the love of God! This Is Love tells Christians how to show true love to world. God freely gave his Son for us, so we should freely love others through our actions. This is a lite rock tune.
Born To Be (with Gary LeVox)– Natalie and Gary ask God to help them follow the path that they were meant to follow. They describe someone longing to have the Christian life designed for them. The song sounds like a simple country track.
Dead Alive –Who should you be obsessed with? God. Natalie points out the fact in this fast paced pop single. She is in awe of God and feels energized thru Him.
When I Leave The Room– Natalie: “Listening to mix for a song on my new record for my daughters called When I Leave The Room.”
This sweet song sounds like a lullaby to her little girls. It describes leaving her children in God’s hands. When I Leave The Room is her personal letter to her children. She talks about the stages of life they will encounter.
In The End – Natalie introduces her bluegrass banjo song! It is a song about the ultimate relief of Heaven. Life may be tough with numerous obstacles, but Heaven will make everything clear in the end.
“Hurricane” will be available online and in stores on October 15th!
*A Special Thanks to Michelle Wright, Rogers and Cowan and Natalie Grant for the digital copy of the “Hurricane” CD
The award winning musical “Once”landed in Chicago’s Oriental Theatre on October 9th. Unfortunately, the play that sounds delightful on paper is no where near family friendly.
When Guy (Stuart Ward) starts his journey toward a singing career, there is consistent use of the curse word F***. The main characters freely flaunt it in addition to a few other choice curse words.
When the numbers ended, you had to hold your breath until the profanity started again, sexual innuendos and the use of God’s name in vain. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to tolerate act 2. The first act was all about persuading Guy to embark on a career in music in Dublin, Ireland. At the end of the first act, he won over the entire critical open mic crowd.
On the flipside, the acting, singing and dancing was well rehearsed and the cast proved they had talent. I just wish they had chosen a different play to showcase their skills.
BTSCelebs recommends “Once” for adults only! I was shocked child actress Kolette Tetlowwas apart of the cast as Girl’s (Dani De Waal) daughter.
“Once” runs thru October 27th at the Oriental Theatre.
Reliable offensive guard Kyle Long recovered from the Bearsdevastating loss against the New Orleans’ Saints on Sunday with Mom’s cooking. Yesterday, the football mom, Diane Addonizio-Long, was working hard in the kitchen preparing the perfect meal to enjoy Monday Night Football.

Under the pen name Deering, author DeAnna Julie Dodson takes readers into the mind of a serial killer. “Rules Of Murder”is not what it appears to be. The book’s preview describes one murder occurring in Farthering Place, but two murders actually happen at the same time.
The wealthy and wayward Drew Farthering is on a mission to find the killer and he invites his best buddy Nick and new lady love Madeline for the ride.
In the end, the murderer has killed over five people on his spree. Drew is in a race against time to find the psycho before he is next.
BTSCelebsonly recommends “Rules Of Murder” to those with stomachs of steel. The details of the murders are plentiful and gruesome.
Check out the book’s original preview below:
From The Tip of his black Homburg to the crease in his stylish cheviot trousers, he’s the epitome of a stylish 1930s English gentleman. His only problem? The body he just discovered.
Drew Farthering loves a good mystery, although he generally expects to find it in the pages of a novel, not on the grounds of his country estate.
With the help of beautiful and whip-smart Madeline Parker, a guest from America, Drew proposes to use the lessons he’s learned reading his mysteries to solve the crime. Before long, he realizes this is no lark, and no one at Farthering Place is who he or she appears to be–not the butler nor blackmailer, the chauffeur nor embezzler. Trying hard to remain one step ahead of the killer–and trying harder to impress Madeline–Drew must decide how far to take this dangerous game.

Traci Peterson‘s latest book “The Miner’s Lady” is full of hate, sadness and ultimate death. However, Peterson’s story seems to be loosely based on the book of Job in the Holy Bible.
In the beginning of “The Miner’s Lady”, the Panettas and Calarcos can not stand each other. A sordid love triangle tore the two families apart and they refuse to have anything to do with one another. However, when tragedy strikes again and again the families are forced to tolerate each other and their children fall in love. The fathers realize God’s love for them and their children’s love for each other is worth reconciliation.
Despite the bumpy road, Peterson leads her story to a joyous ending that is motion picture perfect.
Traci Peterson’s “The Miner’s Lady” is currently available in bookstores.
Check out the official synopsis below:
When Chantel Panetta’s younger sister claims to be in love with Orlando Calarco, Chantel knows there is no hope. The Panettas and Calarcos have been sworn enemies for decades, and young love cannot heal the deep wounds between the two iron-mining families. Yet, unable to resist Isabella’s pleas, Chantel agrees to help her sister spend time with Orlando…only to have a run-in with Dante, Orlando’s brother.
Chantel can’t deny the attraction that flares when she’s with Dante. But when a tragedy occurs at the mine, is there any hope that the hatred that has simmered between these two families might be resolved? Or will Chantel and Isabella’s hope for love be buried amidst decades of misunderstanding?

The statement above is the essence of what the movie “Doonby” is about. In the film, Sam Doonby (played by actor John Schneider) visits Smithville, Texas one day and changes the lives of those around him. Saving lives, fighting criminals and standing up for enemies is all in a day’s work for the lovable new bartender in town. However, the key to all of his good deeds depended on one thing.
His strange name explains the whole heartbreaking story.
BTSCelebs gives “Doonby” 8 out of 10. The acting was very good and the story was fast paced and compelling. Peter Mackenzie’s “Doonby” ends on a sad note so keep your tissues handy.
“Doonby” visits theaters on November 1st, 2013.
