BTSCelebs’ “Windy City LIVE” Photo Journey Behind-the-Scenes

WCL: “Let’s Get Windy”!

Recently, I had the opportunity to be apart of the Windy City Live studio audience.

The 9:00AM show requires their audience to dress upscale and be in the ABC-TV/Disney Studios by 7:30 AM. There is about a hour and 15 minute wait until you are seated in the icy (air conditioned) WCL room.

If you plan to visit the show in summer, make sure you bring a sweater or jacket to avoid frequent trips to the restroom!

The show is a hour and its very enjoyable. Three TV monitors airing the live program are located to the right of the audience. (Two are on mounted on the ceiling and one is eye level to the bottom row. The screens are very necessary when the cameras and crew frequently block the audience’s view of the hosts and guests. However, ALL LIVE SHOWS have gigantic moveable camera equipment so it is no biggie.

Host panel Ji suk, Ryan, Val and Roe

Nonetheless, the crew was very friendly and the show was entertaining….plus WCL has frequent giveaways on many of the shows!

I would recommend anyone visiting Chicago to give it a go!

(Greno) Minjae Lee’s Interview with BTSCelebs

BTSCelebs: What inspired you to become an artist?

Minjae Lee: It was something that just happened really. I enjoyed seeing someones cartoons and manga drawings one day and then started doing it myself and eventually it developed into the style I have today.

How do you decide on a subject to paint/draw?

If it inspires, it inspires.

K-Pop is becoming very popular around the world, Do you have an idol crush?

I think many of them are very talented and very beautiful.

Do you think drawing a singer could help your art’s popularity reach new heights?

Of course it’s what people do to bring their art to new audiences and a new series I am working on will feature some recognizable faces from film, music etc

How long did it take you to complete your most difficult piece?

Some pieces have taken over a year, off and on.

What additional talents do you have besides art?

Have to leave a little for people to discover for themselves.

Have you created any of your pieces in foreign countries? If so, where?

Israel is where I just recently started a piece the size of a shipping container, but it was only 80% complete. It’s HUGE!!!

What do you predict for your future in art?

I do not predict, but I hope more people see my art and enjoy what they see.

A special thanks to Ryan at Roth Management and Greno for the interview and images

BTSCelebs Gregg Hunter Interview – Part 2

What are the rewards of camp for children?

When children and youth leave behind the stresses and expectations of their normal daily routine and enter the temporary community of a camp, they have the time and space to consider who they really want to be and the type of future they want to pursue. They also experience many adventures they would never have the chance to experience at home, like some of the activities above, making it what many call the best week of their lives.

Due to priests’ scandals in the church and the raging hormones among young people, many may be apprehensive about sending their children to a religious camp because of the fear of sexual misconduct. What does your camp organization do to combat these fears?

We encourage all our member camps, about 850 across the U.S., to develop and adhere to strict policies and practices that help to ensure the health and safety of every camper.  We also point them to resources that operate to provide these.  Our member camps exist because the leaders love young people and want to serve them and make a positive impact in their lives.   Our experience is that they take seriously the responsibility for adhering to health, safety, and behavior policies.

Parents considering sending their children to any camp should feel free to contact leaders there and ask questions about their policies. They may also ask to speak to other parents who have sent their children to that camp over the years. That’s what I would do as a parent. I would also encourage parents to go to www.ThePowerOfCamp.com and select “Find a Camp” so they can search for a member camp nearby for their child.

In addition to BTSCelebs, I have worked as an editor/writer for South Korea. The Buddhist nation has a growing number of Christians in recent years. Do you want to take your Christian camp experience to the global scale? If so, what impact do you feel your faith based camps will have on countries of different religions?

Christian camping is already global. I just returned from a conference in Spain this week hosted by Christian Camping International, representing leaders from similar associations from 20 countries. Each of these countries has its own collection of religious traditions and cultures, and the Christian camping associations are committed to working cooperatively and peacefully alongside and within those cultures.

What is the ultimate mission of Christian Camp and the Conference Association?

Our mission is very simple, really. It is to serve our member camps and conference centers by helping to maximize their ministries. We want to help enhance what they are already doing well in their service to children, youth and adults, and to improve in areas that need to be strengthened.

A Special Thanks to Gregg Hunter and Lori Lenz -Heiselman
